The "Clean the Ocean" campaign is identified as one of the key tasks of the Summer 2019 Youth Volunteer Campaign.
With the theme "Kindness to the Ocean," the campaign focuses on raising awareness and actions of people, tourists, and the community about the important role of the ocean in human life. It calls on the community to join hands to protect the marine environment through practical activities. Additionally, it organizes social welfare activities to encourage fishermen in difficult circumstances in coastal provinces to continue their fishing activities, thereby promoting economic development.
The national-level launch of the "Clean the Ocean" campaign took place at Sa Ky Port in Binh Chau Commune, Ly Son District, Quang Ngai Province on June 8, 2019, featuring various meaningful and practical activities. Simultaneously, in the 28 coastal provinces and cities, similar activities were organized to collect waste.
