Son La Hydropower Reservoir is one of the largest water reservoirs in Vietnam, playing a critical role in power generation, water regulation, and national energy security. However, due to its vast surface area, complex topography, and the large volume of floating waste generated during the rainy and flood seasons, waste collection and infrastructure protection have long posed significant challenges.
In response to this situation, SIAM Brothers Vietnam was selected to supply and implement the Trash Barrier Buoy Project, utilizing high-quality LLDPE trash barrier buoys. The project aims to deliver an efficient, stable, and long-term solution for blocking, guiding, and collecting floating waste at Son La Hydropower Reservoir.
Before the deployment of a dedicated trash barrier buoy solution, the Son La Hydropower Reservoir faced multiple operational and environmental issues:
Previous temporary solutions failed to provide sustainable effectiveness, especially under conditions of fluctuating water levels and harsh weather.

Based on on-site surveys and extensive experience in similar projects, SIAM Brothers Vietnam proposed a synchronized LLDPE trash barrier buoy system, specifically designed for the operating conditions of hydropower reservoirs.
Trash Barrier Buoy System Configuration
The system includes:
All buoys are manufactured from high-quality LLDPE material, offering UV resistance, corrosion resistance, and long-term durability in freshwater environments.

During the implementation of the trash barrier buoy project at Son La Hydropower Reservoir, SIAM Brothers Vietnam focused on several key technical factors:
Thanks to its modular structure, the trash barrier buoy system can be easily repositioned, towed, and adjusted as required, ensuring smooth installation and efficient long-term operation.
After being put into operation, the trash barrier buoy system at Son La Hydropower Reservoir delivered clear and measurable results:
The trash barrier buoy system has demonstrated stable and durable performance, even during heavy rainfall and fluctuating water levels.

LLDPE trash barrier buoys are highly resistant to harsh weather conditions, making them suitable for long-term operation at large hydropower reservoirs.
The optimized buoy design prevents sinking or overturning, even during peak waste accumulation seasons.
The system can be easily disassembled, expanded, or adjusted to meet actual operational requirements.
Compared to traditional methods, LLDPE trash barrier buoys significantly reduce long-term operational and maintenance costs.
The Trash Barrier Buoy Project at Son La Hydropower Reservoir represents not only a technical solution but also a broader commitment to environmental protection:
With extensive experience in manufacturing and supplying ropes and floating solutions, SIAM Brothers Vietnam is proud to be a trusted partner for trash barrier buoy projects across Vietnam.

The Trash Barrier Buoy Project at Son La Hydropower Reservoir stands as clear evidence of the effectiveness of SIAM Brothers Vietnam’s floating solutions. With high durability, efficient waste collection capability, and operational flexibility, trash barrier buoys are becoming the optimal choice for hydropower reservoirs, rivers, and water management infrastructure nationwide.
